Community Outreach

2023

The Community Outreach Programme hopes to dismantle the barriers that people from marginalised or vulnerable groups may face by offering supportive free and subsidised courses in ceramics.

In 2023, I became ‘Community Coordinator’ and worked with support from Glasgow Ceramic Studio to establish the studio’s outreach programme. I grew the existing programme, of singular basis workshops, to offering structured courses including a 4-week introduction workshop and a 10-week clay continuation course.

The programme runs in partnership with charities across Glasgow including InCahootz, Projectability and Humanising Healthcare. It has expanded to include a team of amazing volunteers, whose engagement is hugely appreciated and essential to keeping sessions going.
