The Chairs
2024
This project was in collaboration with participants from InCahootz, exploring collective hand-building on scale.
InCahootz is a Glasgow-based charity which uses art and performance as tools to create safe, inclusive and creative environments. More information can be found on their website: https://incahootz.co.uk/
As a group, we worked collaboratively over a series of 6 workshops, to create 2 large-scale colourful seats. Everyone was involved in all aspects of the project, from design to clay preparation, to the physical build. The final chairs have gone on to live at the InCahootz hub in Glasgow.
Thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy and creativity to making these chairs! Thank you also to InCahootz staff Rachel, Kate, Suzanne and Shannon for their support.
This project was generously supported by Creative Scotland’s Open Fund.
