Make a Wish

This wishing fountain is part of an installation for the Adobe Creative Residents exhibition On Display, alongside Jess Starns and Michael Akuagwu. The exhibition is showing from December 2025 - November 2026 at The V&A, South Kensington.

It is a collectively-made object, with the tiles cladding the fountain base and tiers made with apprentices from Fine Cell Work; you can read more about the project here. A token box sits opposite the fountain, allowing visitors to cast a coin and make their own wish.

Clay, glaze, gold lustre, mirror, silicone, adhesive, grout, fabricated water-proof base.

The fountain tiers were built with support from Méabh Breathnach and Charlie Brookes.

The installation of the tiles was done with support from Joanne Dawson.

The fountain base was fabricated by ‘The Fountaineers’.
